Who we are
This website is operated by GharKart. You can contact us at support@gharkart.store.
What we collect
When you place an order we collect only what is needed to deliver it:
- your full name;
- your mobile number, and your WhatsApp number if you give one;
- your email address, if you choose to give one;
- your delivery address, city, province, and optionally a postal code and landmark;
- any order notes you write;
- the products and quantities you ordered.
We also record the IP address and browser identifier of the device used to place the order. This is kept purely to detect fraudulent and duplicate orders.
What we do not collect
We do not collect card numbers, bank details, CVV codes or any payment credentials, because this store takes Cash on Delivery only. There is no payment form on this site to collect them with.
Why we use it
- to confirm your order with you;
- to pass your name, number and address to the courier so your parcel can be delivered;
- to order the item from our supplier on your behalf;
- to deal with returns, exchanges and questions about your order.
Who we share it with
We share your delivery details with the courier company handling your parcel, and with the supplier who fulfils the item, only to the extent needed to get the order to you. We do not sell your personal information to anybody.
Recent order activity shown on this website
When an order is placed, this website may show other visitors a short notice such as “Hassan from Peshawar ordered the Vegetable Chopper 3 minutes ago”. That notice contains only your first name, your city, the product and roughly how long ago it was. It never shows your surname, your address, your phone number, your email address, your order number or the amount you paid, and it disappears after a short time.
If you would rather your first name and city were not shown, write “do not show my name” in the order notes at checkout, or email us at support@gharkart.store at any time, and we will exclude your order from these notices.
Reviews you choose to write
If you submit a product review, the first name, city, rating, text and any photo you provide are published on that product’s page once we have checked them. Only the first word of the name you give is published. Your order number, if you supply one, is used privately to confirm you bought the item and is never shown. Ask us and we will remove your review.
Cookies and local storage
This website stores your shopping cart in your own browser's local storage so that it survives a page refresh. That data stays on your device. We also use a short-lived session cookie during checkout to protect the order form against cross-site request forgery.
We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the performance of our advertising. It may set cookies and share information about your visit with Meta. You can control this through your browser settings and your Meta ad preferences.
We also send some of this measurement from our own server rather than from your browser, using Meta’s Conversions API. This is the same measurement, sent a more reliable way; it is not additional tracking of your browsing.
When you place an order, we send Meta a transformed (hashed) form of your mobile number and email address so it can tell whether the order came from one of our adverts. We do not send Meta your name, your delivery address, your order notes, or the contents of any message you send us. Hashing is not the same as anonymising — anyone who already holds your number or address could produce the same value — so we treat these as personal data and protect them accordingly.
We report a completed sale to Meta only once a parcel has actually been delivered and paid for, never when an order is merely placed.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to handle returns, answer questions about past orders, and meet any record-keeping obligations we have.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to support@gharkart.store.
Changes
If we change this policy, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change with it.
